Professor Rufai assumed office on Friday, 1st of Sept. 2023, as the fourth (4th) Registrar/CEO of Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Registration Board of Nigeria after Dr. (Mrs.) Olufunke Taibat Akanle, whose tenure of office ended on Tuesday, 15th of August, 2023

Prof. Ahmad was a Professor of Neurological Physiotherapy at Bayero University Kano and a Honorary Consultant Physiotherapist at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital Kano, Deputy Director Procurement and Training , Directorate of laboratory management, Bayero University Kano.  He is a Past President, Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy; Former member of the governing Board of Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria and Dean of faculty of Health Sciences, Kaduna State University.
